The incident which took place on Saturday was reported to have happened at NO 1, Agbontaen Street, beside Ebvareke Secondary School, off Agboniro Street, Uselu, Benin City.
The eldest child of the deceased by the name Augustine Christopher who narrated the incident to pressmen describe his mother as a loving and hard-working woman. He noted that the mother was of good health before the sad incident.
The deceased Mrs Isoken Christopher, a mother of three was beaten to death by her husband over her failure to grant him a N2000 loan.
13 years old Christopher reported that his father hits his mother at every slightest provocation.
He further narrated the incident by reporting that the father who is a menial worker with a waste manager in Benin called the mother through her cell phone requesting for the sum of N2000.
Not so long after the call, his father came home and started hitting his mother acusing her of always embarrassing him whenever he requests for money.
"After the beating, I was trying to give my mother the paracetamol and water she asked of me, when my father threw them off my hand"
The 14 year old continued his narration of how his mother stepped out to take a cold bath and lay down outside the house.
"My father locked me and my siblings inside, went outside and started hitting my mother who was already weak from the previous beating".
He narrated how the neighbors came out and rushed his unconscious mother to two different hospitals where she was both confirmed dead on arrival. 
Neighbors of the deceased described her as a hard working woman, and confirmed that she was hail and harty on the day of the incident. They also confirmed that Mr Christopher has always had the habit of hitting his wife.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary and Mr Christopher arrested and detained at the Edo State Police Command.
