A baby factory was stormed by the police in Cross River State and three pregnant women and two children rescued.
The baby factory is said to be located in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State.
The raid was led by the State Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh, and he reverted to journalists on Wednesday that one Imaobong Asuquo of Obot Udonna village, Akamkpa Area Mine runs the baby factory in her home.
The CP gave his statement ''I led a team of policemen to storm the residence around 3:40am and rescued three pregnant women by the name Blessing Francis, Blessing Okon and Blessing Solomon, as well as two children; Bright Solomon, a girl aged two and Michael Etim, a boy aged aged Seven''
''The suspect Imaobong, confessed to the crime. She said that she had sold three new born babies for N500,000 each to one Iquo who is her partner in crime. The suspects are in custody and investigation is in progress.
