Four (4) Appropriate Ways to Handle Emotions in Your Teen (PTR)

Give Your Kids Room to Ask Questions and Challenge Things They Are Uncomfortable About.

A lot of times, we teach our children to accept hook line and sinker, to accept whatever is thrown at them simply because it comes from someone respectable or you the parent as the case maybe.

It was a "taboo" for a child to question why a parent (especially) wanted them to do certain things in certain ways even when they had a better opinion about it 'this kills the creativity in children'. Sam Semako is of the view that "the instinct to create is present therein every man". 'Don't be the reason your child looses his/hers'. Most adults who follow status quo without questioning, were often kids who were never given the opportunities and encouraged to ask questions.

You want your kid to be able to challenge decisions of peers and overcome the ills of peer pressure? let the ability to question certain 'trends' and 'happenings' in them find expression.
Every inventor in history was an inquisitive and an "always asking how to do something new" personality. Give your child the room to be the Thomas Edison, Mark Zukerberg, or Bill Gates of his generation.

REMEMBER
Effective parenting is a deliberate, calculated and skillfully planned responsibility
