After a long week, I promised myself a break; no wandering eyes and ears to hear the great needs of Nigeria 😀, I sincerely wanted to just give my whole self a break. 😟
But one with a heart for her nation and community does not have such leisure 😕
One my way for my Saturday session with my kids, I came in contact with these young ones. I was not only mesmerized by their age and size, I was thrown off by what was in those trays for sale, can you imagine exposing this young ones to so many great dangers for some peanuts. These kids could be kidnapped, raped or even killed (with elections @ the corner).
I called them close to have a little chat with them, posing as someone who was interested in what they sell. I got to know that these girls are not in school and that they are subjected to selling these stuffs almost everyday.
Hmm, I couldn't do much, I did my bit by advising them to not go too far from the neighborhood I saw them, and I advised them not to respond to anyone who calls them into any place that is enclosed or that has gates.
I will simply end this story by saying that this is Child Abuse and should not be tolerated, it is high time WE seriously talk against child labour. Let's spread the word and see to it that it stops in all forms.
Every child deserves an education
Say no to child labour
