Love Chariz Foundation, started as a passion translated to action, and since the commencement of action, that passion has enabled us build with the little resources we can lay our hands on.
I choose not to bore you with the story of how the needs of youths in Nigeria tugged at me every day and gave me countless sleepless nights, plus how I just decided to start so as to experience atleast some peace!! This story I will tell some day (The story of my life!)
Having started with just a DREAM as a SEED, every one like me will be afire with the hope that anyone who hears your mission, goals and some details of your passion, will just deep hands into their pocket and support, hmmmm!! I think watching American movies have really affected my reasoning; You know now!! American movies where a youngster with just a dream to change his/her world steps out and every one lends a hand of support in whatever way they can? they recieve support 'just for stepping out'!!!!! Chinekeme!!!!
In Nija here eh, I don't just know how to put it, but I will put it anyhow!
It's either your passion to make money is very high or your passion to impact lives positively is high high before you can actually survive as one starting an NGO.
Not just that o! some one will just look at you, nod his/her head and say something like 'People start up NGOs to enrich themselves', hmmm! mtchew! if you are like me, all you feel like doing at that moment is to just remove your heart from your chest and show it to them.
Well, I said all these to say that, starting up an NGO and having it running in Nigeria is not easy at all especially for the genuine ones like us. The country needs us to actually touch areas that the government cannot reach or have delibrately neglected.
My sincere hope for genuine public servants like me is that they be spotted and identified for their genuiness and that they be rewarded for their uniqueness.
It's not easy I must say!!!
